Smits Berlikum is specialized in trading seed potatoes, consumption potatoes and onions. The company’s main focus is the trade of potatoes and onions grown in the Frisian and Groninger clay (Northern provinces of the Netherlands). Smits offers several different options to market or buy these products, such as grow under contract, market through a pool or trade on the open market. Individual arrangements regarding price, packaging, transportation and timing of delivery can be made with both the farmer and the buyer of the products.

Due to a good relationship with the farmers, low overhead and direct communication lines with exporters and processors of the products we are able to respond quickly to changes in the market.
